What do you say to professionals in video or audio that say newer is always better, and they laugh at old stuff?
Man they both have their pros and cons for sure! What sucks about outboard gear or analog equipment is that it breaks. What's great is it sounds great just about all the time! Plugins suck in the sense that there's 9 zillion things out there and half the plugins that "emulate" analog gear don't even sound close to the analog gear and people who never used analog gear think it does. There are some things that do a solid emulation but most don't really do the job IMHO - like tape emulation plugins. Literally none of them sound like tape to me. They all add this harsh brightness that tape just doesn't do. Plugins are great though because you can take them with you anywhere and load up sessions super quickly without recalling! I like working in a hybrid setting myself with a bit of both worlds! . . How do you like working!?

What am I missing? Thats a magical sound? Why don't you put it in play? It's the sound from the speakers that matters.
We live in a digital world where you don't hear these types of mechanical sounds anymore, which is the entire point of the video.

I was like "WHAT SOUND??" when I was expecting you to actually play some beautiful sounding music or something... THEN I realized what you were actually talking about here, LOL!... It's more of that "ASMR" stuff... NOT really of any concern of mine, but for some people I guess it's like "euphoric" or something... ? (To each their own, I guess...)

Yeah! This is a 4 channel reel to reel with Simul-Sync! This specific one is from 1972 I believe! Either 72 or 74!

How about logic stock alternatives? I’m working on a project with cello and love this tone you created. It’s haunting and warm.
Hey! Unfortunately I don't use Logic so I can't recommend any of their stock alternatives!
I only use bus compression on strings, often with a multiband, but never fast on the attack. FOr ex: UA Fairchild 670- preset "Slow Stirings". Im not even looking for much reduction its more of a case of being "switched in"
Why did you put up the reel in reverse direction? The recorders always play the tape from left to right. In the video you rewinded the tape.
Great question! You typically store tape tails out - meaning the end of the tape is on the right reel. When you take out of storage - to play or record onto the tape - you put it on and rewind it to the beginning of the tape!

I had one, but don't remember what happened to it .
This is not a click track. I need to create a click track like you can do in protools. I'm a drummer and I need to click Record 30 seconds before the track to go to my drumset and sit. In protools I can create a click track and of course automatize the volumen of click. Here I don't have a clue how to do that.
That's not possible in Luna yet unfortunately - it's super lame. It's simple in pro tools because the click track is just a plugin. The only workaround currently that would be the quickest would be to create it in Pro Tools and export it so you can import into Luna - or find a click plugin that you can put on a track and print it to a new audio track!

Bought this off Reverb or Ebay and then I bought the ATR tape from Reverb

It would be more accurate to refer to mid as "all the information both speakers recieve/which is equal between both" and side as "all the information which differs between the two".
More accurate yes, however, to a beginner the way I explained it is way easier to understand.

I built it myself! It's essentially the Output desk with a ton of modifications to it!
What if you don'y want it in stereo?
Create a mono audio track and just select one of the virtual channels!

That's an Avantone CV-12 Tube Mic! Very affordable mic and sounds great!

I love these sounds. The hum of the motors, relays, solenoids and just the internal sounds of mechanisms moving. This is good ASMR right here.

One question where do you route the print track to you can't leave that empty I don't think it has to be routed someplace the input you can leave with none but not the output if you Loop it back to the master won't that be a problem I don't know that's why I'm asking
Everything eventually goes out to the master! So you would set the input to a virtual channel, and the output to main. It will not be a loop back feed.
My Main is Virtual 1-2 For some reason. Maybe I gotta go into Console settings and change it there. Or do nothing because it already works. Thanks for the info.@@GrimaldiSound

I was literally just thinking the first thing today. That's crazy weird timing! I was trying to decide if I should master today or take a day off, and my lazy ass decided I needed a break to get a new perspective. The universe is weird dude
haha that's wild!! Take a few days off and go into the mastering session with the understanding that 'I'm not gonna think about making any mix changes. I'm solely going to be mastering today". Would love to hear your final master!
Most people won't understand what's going on here, but I'm digging this channel. You clearly love what you do and I know the exact feeling you're trying to convey here. When more gear and audioheads find your channel, you'll have a lot more subs
